SUMMARY:Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Workshop on “PV Performance Research in COST Inclusiveness Target Countries” \nThe Workshop is aimed at capturing experiences with PV system research and PV developments in Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs)\, as well as on intensifying knowledge exchange between PV experts. Having in mind that the group of ICTs includes  Albania\, Bosnia and Herzegovina\, Bulgaria\, Cyprus\, Czech Republic\, Estonia\, Croatia\, Hungary\, Lithuania\, Latvia\, Luxembourg\, Malta\, Moldova\, Montenegro\, Poland\, Portugal\, Romania\, Slovenia\, Slovakia\, Republic of North Macedonia\, Republic of Serbia and Turkey\,  it is indicative that experiences with PV systems can vary among these countries. \nThe Workshop is hosted by the Faculty of Architecture at University of Belgrade in Serbia. It is an opportunity to bring together scientists\, PV professionals\, PhD students and city representatives from ITCs\, and to encourage the use of PV technology by architects and urban planners. \nAgenda: CA16235 PEARL PV Belgrade 2019 Workshop – Agenda24_25042019

SUMMARY:COST Training School
DESCRIPTION:MONITORING AND SIMULATION OF THE PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY OF PHOTOVOLTAICS IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT\nShort description: The first PEARL-PV Training School on the topic \n“Monitoring and Simulation of the Performance and Reliability of Photovoltaics in the Built Environment” \nwill take place at University of Cyprus in Nicosia in Cyprus\, between 23th and 26th October 2018. It will focus on the special requirements and challenges of integrating PV in built environment and grids with focus on the determination and prediction of performance and reliability. In a 3\,5 days training school comprising of input lectures\, practical courses and on-site excursions\, trainees will gain a deep understanding of planning and building of integrated photovoltaics and learn about key topics from PEARL PV Working Groups such as performance monitoring\, reliability and simulation issues. \nTraining School trainees (students\, researchers\, educators and practitioners) will participate in multiple introductive expert lectures\, interactive seminars\, practical courses  including team action work\, study tours\, and much more. Interested in gaining and transfering knowledge on the challenges and possibilities of photovoltaics integrated in the built environment to your institute and country? Learn from experts and others experiences from best practice projects and share your own experiences! \nPreliminary schedule: The preliminary detailed schedule of this Training School can be downloaded here PEARL PV CA16235 Training School Schedule of Events FINAL23092018 This agenda might be subjected to minor changes. \nVenue\nUniversity of Cyprus\n1\, University Avenue\, Aglantzia\nNicosia 2109\nCyprus \n \nSee here for a weblink to travel and accommodation information: PEARL-PV_Fall_Event_Logistics \nParticipants: PhD candidates\, Postdocs \, R&D people. SUMMARY:Seminar WG1
DESCRIPTION:MATCHING PV DATA AND PV PERFORMANCE RESEARCH QUESTIONS\nParticipants: In e-COST registered participants of PEARL PV\, in particular active members of WGs and MC members or their substitutes \nNOTE: you are only eligible for reimbursement if you have received (and accepted) the official invitation through e-COST to be expected in August   \nShort description: Working group 1 of Cost Action PEARL PV aims to develop generally accepted approaches and guidelines for the collection of data about the performance of PV modules and PV systems for the whole Action. In this seminar\, we will therefore aim at making an inventory of relevant PV research questions and gaps in knowledge in order to set requirements on data to be collected and analyzed. All WG leaders of this Action will therefore present an overview of the state-of-the-art of research in the field of the specific WG\, and in a discussion session with attendees\, a set of questions and data will be drafted. Together\, they will form the basis of data collection of WG1. \nAmong others results will be presented of a questionnaire which was recently developed and sent out among partners to identify required and available data. All partners had implicitly (and/or explicitly) research questions in their mind while filling out the questionnaire by identifying data to be either absolutely necessary\, highly desired\, or nice to have (or even not required). This demonstrates that rather than collecting as much data as possible\, it is imperative to ask research questions first and subsequently define the required data set that would allow answering the questions properly. \nAgenda:  \n9:00h Welcome for WG1 members of PEARL PV: Wilfried van Sark (prof.dr.)\, Utrecht University\, The Netherlands\n9:05h Welcome for the whole Action PEARL PV: Angele Reinders (prof.dr.)\, TU/e and UT\, The Netherlands\n9:20h Opening address: Nathalie Jaarsma\, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Cyprus\n9:30h Plenary address on PV performance: Josh Stein (dr.)\, Sandia National Laboratories\, USA \n10:30h Break \n11:00h State-of-the-art in PV monitoring\, WG1 aims and tasks: Wilfried van Sark (prof.dr.)\, Utrecht University\, The Netherlands\n11:20h Results of PV data identification questionnaire (Wilfried van Sark)\n11:30h Discussion with all attendees\n11:45h State-of-the-art in Reliability and durability of PV\, WG2 aims and tasks: Gabriele Eder (dr.)
