Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) are institutional visits aimed at supporting individual mobility, fostering collaboration between individuals. Four STSMs were successfully completed during Grant Period 1 of PEARL PV.
A certain set of rules applies for all STSMs in COST Actions, defined in the COST Vademecum, Section 7, page 35-36. Those rules as well as the major evaluation criteria for STSM applications are briefly summarized in the
PEARL PV STSM Guidelines.
All STSM applications MUST be submitted via https://e-services.cost.eu/STSM.
STSM applications can only be submitted after registration at https://e-services.cost.eu/user/registration/register.
Please send an additional copy or short notification of your application to the
STSM Coordinator firstname.lastname@example.org.
STSM applications will be evaluated every three months to ensure timely decisions. Specific evaluation criteria for PEARL PV STSMs are listed in the PEARL PV STSM Guidelines.
For visiting periods starting from February until April 2019, please submit your STSM applications immediately! Please note that all STSMs of the ongoing Grant Period 2 must be concluded before April 29, 2019, including the upload of scientific report and its approval by the host.
STSM applications for Grant Period 3 will be possible after re-opening of the e-COST application site in May 2019. Therefore, starting dates of STSM exchanges should not be scheduled earlier than June 2019.
Please do not miss our recent PEARL PV STSM Openings!
STSMs are primarily intended for PhD students and young researchers to visit other research groups, in order to acquire new expertise, contribute their expertise to particular projects, and exchange ideas between participating institutions. STSMs will help PhD students and early-stage researchers to develop sustainable contacts and collaborations. In special cases, also Master students may be eligible. STSMs will be organized as short visits, typically of few weeks duration, between eligible institutions and organisations. Early Career Investigators (ECI) can apply for a special ECI-STSM format of up to 180 calendar days duration.
Our COST Action PEARL-PV particularly aims at supporting STSMs with Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC) and Near Neighbour Countries (NNC) involved, but also STSMs with International Partner Countries (IPC), with and between a wide variety of institutions within the participating COST countries are possible.
